When he was just six years old, his family brought home their first black Labrador Retriever, whom they named Magic. From that moment on, he and Magic were inseparable.
Tragically, at the age of 18, Magic succumbed to a heart tumor. The loss of his closest companion left him devastated, and he found it difficult to sleep after she passed away.
Every night, Magic used to sleep in his bed, so when he lay down, her absence felt even more profound.
A year later, his family welcomed a new black Labrador Retriever, and something peculiar began to occur.
Their new dog refused to sleep in his room. In fact, the dog avoided even entering the bedroom.
“He consistently fixated on certain spots before abruptly departing. I attempted to have him sleep on my bed in an effort to keep him in my room, but he promptly leaped off, pleading to be release,” he elaborate.
On a restless evening, he felt a sudden weight on the edge of his bed, as if someone had leapt onto it.
He felt utterly alarmed, realizing it couldn’t be his new pet, given that his room’s door was securely closed.
“Then, just as she used to do when she was alive, it felt like four paws were moving in a circle, searching for that perfect spot, before the covers gently pressed down at my feet,” he said.
“This occurred nightly for weeks, making me feel like I was losing my mind. One particularly frustrating night, when the noise woke me up, I exclaimed, ‘Magic, go bother Mum!'”
“I was only half-serious when I thought it might be her, but the next morning, during breakfast, my mom looked at me and said, ‘Something really strange happened last night. It felt as if Magic jumped onto my bed, settled in comfortably, and went to sleep.'”
“He never told his mom about his belief that Magic was haunting him every night, fearing she might think he was crazy.”
“When his mom mentioned it, he was astonished and immediately told her that he had experienced the same thing. He had even sent Magic to her room the night before.”
They both started crying, fearing that Magic might think they had replaced her with their new dog.
After a week, the eerie disturbances suddenly ceased, and he informed his mother that he no longer sensed Magic’s presence.
“My mom shared that when I was away, she visited my room and spoke to Magic. She assured Magic that we cherished her deeply, that she would always hold a special place in our hearts, and that it was perfectly fine for her to rest now.”
“Since then, my new Labrador has been sleeping in my room every night. I like to believe that Magic gave his approval.”
“My mom and I often share this story, and while we can’t fully explain it, we like to think that she returned to spend a little more time with us and teach the new puppy how to be the best companion.”
