A woman chooses to begin a fresh chapter after discovering her ex-fiancé’s infidelity with a coworker. However, some people close to her are trying to make her feel guilty about her decision.

At 31 years old, she had been in a relationship with Jose for five years. They had been engage for about six months when she uncover that he was involve in an affair with a coworker.

She scan his email inbox and discover proof that they had been deceiving her for the past nine months.

She was crush, believing that she and Jose had a strong, lasting relationship, one that would lead to starting a family and building a home together.

“Initially, I was furious, and my immediate reaction was to think of ways to completely disrupt their lives,” she share.

After spending around 16 hours reflecting and shedding tears while he was away on a work trip, I realize that any effort on my part would be futile.

Just two days after discovering Jose’s deceit, she face intense pressure from him to engage in phone conversations. However, she avoid his calls and maintain her distance. She took proactive steps to safeguard her bank accounts and ensure that she remain completely independent from her ex.

“On the third day, I decide to block him and instruct my parents to avoid any conversations with him,” she remember.

“I told them they could continue their relationship with him if they wished, as my dad was very fond of him. However, I request that they refrain from mentioning me in any conversations.”

When Jose’s business trip conclude, he arrive at her parents’ house, only to be told by her father to leave. It had now been two weeks since she end her relationship with Jose, and she had not reach out to him at all. Despite the fact that this break-up period is typically challenging, she was surprisingly upbeat. She spent her time exploring new apartments and looking forward to a future independent of him.

Throughout this period, she never felt compete to confront Jose. It seem as though she had nothing to express.  Nevertheless, her parents hold a different perspective.

“During our conversation about my plans, my parents advise me to review everything with [Jose],” she explain.

“They think I’ll regret my decision, that errors are part of life, and without his admission, I can’t be sure of his infidelity. I respond by saying that I preferred not to invest any more time in the matter.”

She admitted to her parents that blocking Jose was ‘selfish,’ but insisted hearing his side wouldn’t help her recovery. Her mother expressed disappointment, saying she had hoped for a ‘more compassionate and empathetic daughter,’ sparking a heated discussion.
